Volunteer Training for the MS 150

Accidents Happen, We're There To Help

The MS Society staff usually conducts one or more training sessions for all of the route safety volunteers, including the motorcycle escorts. The main training session focuses on route safety, and is normally held about three weeks prior to the event, and the MS Society will mail an invitation to all of the volunteers. We'll post the information from that invitation here just to make sure everyone has access to it.

The route safety training costs nothing, and all route safety volunteers are urged to attend. The subjects covered will include route information, communication methods, accident reporting, refueling locations, and many others. Since the MS Society must be certain that each motorcycle escort is properly licensed and insured, please bring your driver's license and proof of insurance to this training session.

This year's route safety training will be conducted at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Minneapolis on June 2, and invitations were recently mailed to all escorts on the MS 150 roster. Escorts are expected to attend this important training, and here's a link to the training invitation in case your's has been lost or delayed.

The MS Society is sometimes able to obtain training in First Aid, Intersection Safety, and other helpful topics. Some of these sessions may be offered at no cost, some may incur a small fee. Invitations will be mailed to the appropriate volunteers.
